What the $49 covers

One price, whether you’ve been coming here for years or this is your first visit.

$49
Doctor’s exam for dogs and cats — new & existing clients

A licensed veterinarian performs a full nose-to-tail physical exam, reviews your pet’s history, talks through whatever brought you in, and tells you what they’d do next.

The $49 covers the doctor’s time and physical evaluation only. Vaccines, lab work, imaging, medications and treatments are priced separately — and we review the cost with you before we do anything.

Why pet owners choose us

The veterinarians across our two hospitals include two former owners of 24-hour primary care and emergency hospitals, and doctors with more than 25 years in practice ownership.

Bloat, foreign bodies, urinary obstructions, wounds, and most soft-tissue surgery are handled here — with in-house imaging and bloodwork, and a veterinary orthopedic surgeon for procedures that need one. We do not provide overnight care; if your pet needs it, we will refer you to a 24-hour facility.

Open 7:30am–6:30pm, six days a week. Veterinarians on site 9:00am–6:00pm.

Questions we get a lot

Is the $49 exam only for new clients?

No. It’s $49 for new and existing clients alike — the doctor’s exam fee for dogs and cats.

What does the $49 exam include?

A comprehensive veterinary medical exam performed by a licensed veterinarian: a nose-to-tail physical examination, an assessment of general health and body condition, examination of eyes, ears, skin and coat, heart, lungs, abdomen and joints, and a discussion of any current concerns.

What should I bring to a first visit?

Any records from a previous veterinarian, a list of current medications and doses, and the food your pet eats. If your pet is having a specific problem, a short phone video of the behaviour is often more useful than a description.

What if my pet needs more than an exam?

The doctor will tell you what they recommend and what it costs before anything happens. Lab work, imaging, and treatment are all done here, so you won’t be sent elsewhere for the next step.

My pet is unwell today. Should I use this page?

Call us instead of filling out the form — (727) 592-1816. Same-day appointments open when we do and fill through the morning, and the phone is faster than a form.
